SI Museum (Pt.1)

Hehe, lookie who finally made it this way for a visit! (Thanks Scentsy Convention!)

Heidi and Andrew made pancakes...Heidi showed him the box of mix and he was excited...she started making them and he asks, "what's that?"...and he was not a fan of them, frozen pancakes it is for you, little buddy. =)

"Katelyn- you're going to miss the train!"

Thom: "I sure hope I don't look silly."

On the train going to Chicago.

Hmm...wonder what she wants that it's worth pulling out the puppy dog eyes for...?

I think they are the cutest little cousin couple around!

The boys had their hands in the air saying, "save me, save me", so Katelyn did the same thing.

New Bed/Aunt Casi's

Got this online for a steal! Katelyn loves it, and she has been sleeping every night in it. She wakes up between 5 and 7 and will crawl into bed with us and just lay there until we get up. It has worked out super well for us.

Thanks Casi and Shane for letting us take this pink lady off your hands! Daddy takes Katelyn for a ride about 3 times a week.

Love this photo...it was taken before the building collapse fiasco!

Little guy is knocked out...Katelyn's been known to tire the boys out. =P

Baby...Toad...

Cousin Austin is a pretty cool dude.

Sidewalk Painting

I can not describe to you how much fun Katelyn had with this "liquid sidewalk chalk". We've been doing a lot of "water painting" on the sidewalk, but she really loved having the color behind her brush strokes! It looks translucent wet, but it dried really bright. I can tell we are going to be doing this one a few more times this summer...but the even better news is that it's super easy to make, super cheap to make, and a cinch to clean up. The neighbors granddaughter came over to help paint, and by the time they were done we had "chalk" everywhere!

To make:
Mix 1 cup water with 1 cup corn starch.
Separate out into muffin tins and add food coloring.

That's IT!!!

Dead Ever After: The Final Sookie

I know, I know! I said I wasn't going to read anymore of the Sookie novels, but since this is the LAST one of the series I just HAD to get that closure. I'm NOT going to be giving away any spoilers here, but I will admit that Mrs. Harris has got her stride back with this one. The writing was so much better than the last couple books, and Sookie does more than spend 200 pages checking her mail and being angry.

Annnd....as a personal bonus: It ends exactly the way I wanted!!! So, if you know which guy/vamp/shifter/fairy/part-demon is Sookie's life that I've been rooting for then I guess I spoiled it for you, but if you don't know... =)

If you were a fan at any point in time then go pick up a copy of this one, and get your Sookie closure.

Growing Family!

This is Lisa from France.
We're excited to welcome her into our family for most of the month of July. She arrived on the 10th and returns on the 29th.
She enjoys shopping and going to the movies. Unfortunately, movies are something that we have a hard time going to with Katelyn, but I think she is having a good time.
We have been so blessed with the exchange students that have joined us in our home. Each one has been severely polite and gracious.
Welcome to the family, Lisa!

Lunch with Daddy

We met daddy at the mall to enjoy some Ben's soft Pretzels for lunch. Daddy got the super delish- Hot Ham and Cheese pretzel-which....it was Gooooood!

After lunch, Katelyn and I walked around the mall and she gave me this supermodel pose by on of the many giant butterflies.

Game Time

So, the water play is one of the easy way to entertain Katelyn. I wash my dishes, she washes hers. We have yet to end water play with out the water getting everywhere, but that's ok.

When it is time to dry my dishes (or in this case the placemats) she is always there to assist me.

She also helped me to make some purple play dough, and she LOVES it.

Katelyn's favorite game by far is the pipe cleaners in the strainer game. She pulls this thing out all the time and will ill up the top and the sides.

Storm Cleanup

Chris had to rent a cherry picker to finish cutting down tree limbs so we didn't have to worry about them falling on the house or on us while we play outside!
Katelyn supervises from what she thinks is her office.

Hanging out with Aunt Casi

Went to hang out on with Aunt Casi, Uncle Shane, and Devon...(Austin was spending the night with someone.) But we had fun cruising on the pond in the peddle boat, and lighting fireworks!

(The firework pack is called 'quad racer' and there's a quad in the back of the truck, ha!)

Chef Katelyn Returns to the Kitchen

 OMG! Best Cookies Ever...Thanks Katelyn!

Helping me make Biscuits!
(She loves the rolling pin! All night long she kept running off into the kitchen, standing on her stool, and running it over the biscuits.)

Puddle Fun

I'm sure someone is thinking I'm a terrible mom, but I survived the muddy waters.
=)
K had a blast with the neighbors granddaughters.

Strum-dee-Rum

I made it to the show. Chris watched it with me, and Casi sat across the room to listen. =)
It was a really good time!

Park Day with Lizzie

Hi. Meet Lizzie (but she goes by 'baby'). Grandma Hall bought her for Katelyn. She's been practically attached to K's hip since she got her. Katelyn even walks her around the block in her doll stroller! When we put K down at night, she always looks around the crib, then asks, "Baby?" We'll go get Lizzie, and K will wrap her arm around her and fall asleep.

Following the big storm, Katelyn, Lizzie, and I decided we had to get out of the house. the library was closed, but the weather was great! Avoiding closed roads due to down trees lead us to a new park to play at! (One with toddler swings, yeah!!)

Only problem...getting there for the next 2-3 months will be  a pain since the road taking us there got swallowed into a giant SINK HOLE!
