Every time you are tempted to react in the same old way, ask if you want to be a prisoner of the past or a pioneer of the future.

Library Calls

K had a blast at the early literacy center tonight. They got to play on the new apple tv. K helped spell "scrumptious."

Teaching Time

Sarah took a great opportunity to speak to the aftercare students at Katelyn's school about life in China.

They had a great time, and Sarah really enjoyed it. She talked about school, the economy, currency, food marts, and more.

5 Frogs

Bedtime stories are always entertaining when K takes over telling the story.

Tonight was 5 Green and Speckled Frogs. "Then three green speckled frogs... And one of them jumped in the pool, and another, and another, and another. They all jump in. The end."

And she said my light is too bright.

Flying Saucer

How awesome that the Calliou episode with a flying saucer is on the same morning we start making a flying saucer craft? (for the record, we started before the episode.)
All we have left to do is add some bling, haha!

More Fun

Ok, so I printed off this Lorax template and K LOVES this thing! She runs around the house with it, and asks us to be the Lorax and chase her. It's sooooo much fun!

Paintings...who wants some? We have lots.

More fresh fallen snow! This girl loves winter.

Our girl is proud of her work...

Concentrating hard on her "Yertle the Turtle" craft.

We love us some Dr. Seuss...We took down the kind of melting snowman and put up the Cat in the Hat...K did this all on her own. I held a picture of how it should look up for her to see as I handed her each piece and she put it together to look very similar.

The snowman she made at school.

More Dr. Seuss crafts.

Stella and Same- her new faves.

A little Olympic pride and vday craft.

Watercolors, but the macaroni craft she got everything out of the closet and did that all on her own time.

Ouchies...

Learning to trace write her name.

Working on art...

I must love her a lot, because...I. Hate. Glitter.

And the aftermath of her tumble from the laundry basket...OUCH! It looked a whole lot worse than this photo (this the day 3 of healing.)

Ski Trip

The big girls went skiing...

Katelyn played outside in the snow.

All in a day's work...

Transfer work...She loves coloring the water...and I love that it's colored. ;)

Showing off her tattoos...a Minion and Hello Kitty.

Cornstarch and water...still works...

A master at working the beater...she can do it with one hand now.

Puzzle Work

For me and Sarah

Easy 1,000 piece puzzle...now we're working on a grey scale 1,000 piece...maybe too far of a leap on our part, been 2 weeks and only got the edges and small portion of the middle done. whomp, whomp, whomp....

Pizza Making Time!!

She loves sensory work.

This girl knows a thing or two about working dough... elbows work great.

A little cutting work!

Everyone was responsible for making their own pizza.

Ks masterpiece...she said it was deeeeeelicious.

Again, giving me a heart attack...

The problem with her having the step stool now is that she can lift herself onto the cabinets...and start reorganizing the cupboards.

The Food Chain

Is it sad that Katelyn is only four months past two years old and she already understands how the food chain works? I'm watching her play on the kitchen floor, and she has the duck eat the fish, and then the alligator ate the duck, and then the boy ate the alligator.

Oh, and earlier she had the alligator sitting on top of an egg. When I asked her what the gator was up to, she said he's waiting on his son to crack the egg. (I know she got this from her "The Little Penguin" book,) sooo cute!

Stinky Feet

The other morning Katelyn found her way to our room before we were ready to get up, so I just plopped her down between us and she went right back to sleep. While she was sleeping she started fussing and saying, "Noooo, I don't want the stinky feet. Nooo, feet yucky."

Haha, no clue what she was dreaming about, but it was funny.

Snow days and sick days

Snow Day with Sarah
Katelyn show Sarah how she paints. (Sun catcher set from Dollar Tree, we love those things.)

Sick day from school. She had a bit of a fever.
My Montessori toddler doing her 'work'.
