Ugh!

Life's a drag sometimes!

So my days off this week were Wednesday and Thursday. Carrie got news that her grand baby's momma was going to go in for inducement on Wednesday, so of course I volunteered to come in that day so she could be at the hospital....

Work was slow, and I really wasn't needed. We all knew the baby wouldn't come until Thursday because of what we were being told about how "ready" she was...or wasn't. So when I left work on Wednesday I was told that I wouldn't be needed on Thursday - so I'm super pumped about having the day off - got my shopping list ready, got my other errands ready, got my homework all laid out...and then I get the call asking me to come in from 11-3.

I'm not complaining about being called in really...because I don't mind helping out. I just wish I would have been asked, or at least told to assume I was going to be needed today as well. I'm falling behind with my homework and cleaning and grrr.... I asked "are you sure you don't want me to come in tomorrow?" and I was told not to worry about and enjoy my day off....

Guess I'm just ranting a bit because I was really looking forward to getting everything done today...maybe I'll take my homework with me...again... I tried yesterday, but I just can't do homework at work - my work ethic morals just feel wrong when I try.

Always the Prankster

So Chris and I are driving home from catching a late dinner at Long John Silver's last night, and this car full of girls pulls up next to us and are cheering and screaming through a rolled up magazine. Chris ignores them, they fall behind us, speed up and do it again....well....Chris just happened to get a new hat yesterday that has light bulbs on the front of it, so when they pull up to do it again, he turns towards them real fast and turns his hats lights on. They speed up real quick, probably thinking they are in trouble - when they slow back down, and he does it again their eyes get real big and they are cheering, pointing - all the whoo-haa-ing around. Anyway....it was funny and just thought I'd share - I guess you had to be there, but just imagine driving down the road with your girls yelling at passing cars (most likely a-wee-bit tipsy, if not, then drunk), then someone turns his hat-lights on at you......now picture your in the car with the person who has the hat with lights watching the slightly drunk-to-drunk girls....REAL FUNNY!!

Math Test = Aced!

Aced my math test, Got 45 out of 45 on my 45 lesson plans for math too! Took my CAAP test for my EDU Computer class....(need for degree)....answered only 1/2 the science and almost all of the math sections. Science was easier than I thought, if only I had more time - 35 minutes is not long enough...Ah-well, not like this one was for a grade...at least not my grade, only the colleges. haha, guess the joke is on them :)

Bring on the Halloween!

We're ready for it! Got the house decorated like a week and a half ago! Today felt like mid-november, so let's get it over with all-ready and pray for a summer next year!!!

Big Meeting

Chris had a big meeting with the President of work yesterday. He had been so nervous about it for the last three weeks! I knew things went well when he came home literally SKIPPING through the house. He had to do a personal training session with the pres, and it was a hit.

Thanksgiving Trip Planned

We have solidified our plans for the Thanksgiving Trip to Thom and Heidi's.

Airfare to New Orleans is only $84 pp one-way. (That's booked)

We are staying at a Hotel, (Stay 2 nights, get 3rd free)

We'll spend Sunday and Monday checking out New Orleans,

Tuesday we're checking out, and Heidi and Matthew are coming to pick us up.

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday we'll be hanging out with them, and black Friday shopping!

Because Holiday airfare home was ridiculous, we are taking the Amtrak to Champaign for $96 pp.

Then we are hoping to make it to Danville in time for the girls' big event...??

Which means that we will have to drive a car to Illinois, then recruit someone to drive us to the airport in Chicago (or train it and huff it to the airport from there)

But we're paid for and ready and now just waiting for time to pass.

Catching up!

So... the Colts won Monday night football - next game is Sunday in AZ.

Tuesday we met dad at the Pilot for some -okayish- truck stop food.

Wednesday I was off and cleaned - grocery shopped - and did homework.

Thursday I am off - cleaning - and homework - already been to the post office and library. Looking forward to having all my homework done for the weekend. In a few, I am going to watch the One Tree Hill episode I missed this week thanks to the foot ball game. And tonight I want to watch The Mentalist and then jump on-line to catch up on Hell's Kitchen. Fun stuff - I know.

Tomorrow I work, I'm making the Sammie's for dinner - for which I made my own Creme Fraiche, and the bread is home made! Hope it is some kind of yum. I work Saturday, but other than that I don't believe we have any plans for the weekend.

Monday Night Football

http://www.GlitterMaker.com/ - Glitter Graphics

We love Makenna!

So...I'm at work on Friday, and I'm thinking about what we are going to do this weekend...there was a demo derby in LaPorte, which looked like fun, but we hadn't made any official plans to do this yet. Then I get a call from Chris and he tells me that Brent and Amanda want to know if I want to babysit Makenna Saturday morning...Ofcourse, DUH! ... so Chris buys my Amtrak ticket and after dinner, he drives me to Homewood to jump on the New Orleans train. (Can I just say I LOVE the New Orleans train - so much leg room! Even in coach I was able to have my luggage bag and my backpack in the leg area, and still I was able to stretch my seat out and lay down.)

Anyway - so Brent picked me up at the station - train was only about 12 minutes late (great compared to the typical 40 minutes!)

On Saturday mom was going to drive to Champaign and take Makenna to her swim lesson. But...I called the girls to see if they wanted to ride with Grandma over here, and Kristina wanted to go GeoCaching in Champaign. So...she and the girls came, and mom got to stay home. We got to the Aquatic Center with 2 minutes to spare - couldn't ask for better timing. Boom-Boom. Makenna is so adorable - and the girls were just in love with her.

We went to get lunch at the mall - CHICKEN TERIYAKI - YUMM - Bought some candy from the candy store - YUM - then went geoing over at Parkland, no luck. Then we went to a park, with even worse luck on the geo, but had a good time playing on the equipment. Then Makenna and I got dropped off at the house and we colored the sidewalks, and played on the swing set. When we were finally tired of being outside, we went inside and not two minutes later ...THE PUPPY ARRIVES! Daisy is tooo adorable. Makenna loves her already.

After an initial blast with the puppy, we sat to watch Atonement. Chris arrived and watched a little of the movie, but was very hungry - and it reminded me that I was hungry - ha! So, we paused the movie, went to Dos, went home, hung out, sent the boys to get some Custard Cup, and chatted with Vicki.

Sunday we got up, got dressed, watched Austin Powers, then Chris and I went to the mall so I could use my VS coupons - Chris got his hair cut - and we headed to mom's for the meatballs we have been CRAVING for weeks now. YUMMY STUFF! After about an hour we headed home and just chilled for the night.

COLTS GAMES!!!!

Kim is W-O-N-D-E-R-F-U-L! As promised she was able to direct us to some TICKETS! We bought 4 tickets to 3 different games this season. This is the most games we have ever been to in one season! I think we went to a preseason, and one regular season one year.

So we are going to the opener Sept 13th with Mom and Grandma.
Then we have tickets for a game in OCT vs Texans, and Nov to the Broncos.

We are pretty excited, seats are right below the big window.

Labor Day

First of all, I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend. Chris and I drove to Murfreesboro to visit with mom and dad - during which we helped stage a SURPRISE visit from Thom and Heidi and Matthew! Here is how it all went down:

Chris and I arrived at 2am Friday night/Saturday Morning.
We all got up and got breakfast and laid around until 10:30ish.
Everyone went to the Kennedy's to chat and see their new kitchen.
Around 11:15ish we went to town so Cathy could mail a package.
Then we went to the mall :::This is when the panic sets in because Thom and Heidi have and ETA of 8 minutes to the house::::
Chris has already been setting up the plan, saying the the gravy from breakfast is upsetting his tummy a little.
Then he fakes a bigger stomach ache, which makes me have to question if he is being for real, because he even buys a Sprite to help settle his stomach.
So we decide to go home so he can lay down (and use the toilet)
As we are driving he plays it real good, and when i ask about diner, he says "Stop talking about food please," while he is holding his stomach.
Then we turn up the drive only 12 minutes late. Thom, Heidi and Matthew are standing at the end of the yard and SURPRISE!!!
It was great!

We celebrated Chris' birthday at Chuck E Cheese - Spent the evening at home - Heidi threw a mock SCENTSY party - I spent some money haha - the boys took the Kennedy's golf cart for a spin while we sniffed scents.

Sunday we woke, got dressed - Went to tour the Jack Daniels Distillery, shopped the small town square (bought some yummy fudge) - went home and threw a banging cook out with the Kennedy's!

....and I have no pictures because the camera was MIA, and after hours of looking before we left to come home, Chris remembers he put it back in the car for some reason that we're not sure of.....

First 2 weeks of class

So my first two weeks of school have come and gone. On my first quiz for EDUC, I missed one (I'm calling it a trick question,) and my first credit quiz for Chemistry was 20/20 Who-Rah! (okay I don't know how to spell it!) but it's a good noise, haha! My first math test is not till Sept. 30, so we'll see how that goes when the time comes.

GIJOE

Went to watch GI Joe last night...it's alright, I dunno I guess I like it. There were a few comical spots, and a few where they tried to be funny, but totally blew it ~ The "nice shoes," comment totally came out of nowhere people and bombed big-time.

We knew they'd come calling!

The cute blue house we really wanted to buy at the end of June is still for sale. The sellers have come-a-calling, like we suspected they would.

Actually, I was told the house had sold, but apparently that guy was thinking about a blue house on the other end of the block.

It's small, (Major change from the house in Sharpsville/kokomo,) but has that awesome basement. My boss lives on the road behind it, she says it's a great little subdivision.

So we bargained, you know, did our thing and basically it came up a little short, and we dropped the offer all together.

Last month the price was down from 112,000 to $109,000. Now it is at $104,000. It is an estate, and I guess they found out they wanted it sold worse than they thought.

Perhaps they shouldn't have been so greedy. Realtor called, said she got a call wanting to know if we were still interested.... um.... as much we'd love to laugh in their faces....we're thinking about it....

I have added a link to our amazing friend Sandy's site - Check out Sandy in Romania ! You can find her link anytime in the Link's You Need section.

Chicago Air Show

That's right, we went~ I know you wouldn't know because we I didn't post about it~

But here's our proof! It was a wonderful day in Chicago. We took the SouthShore...and sat on the beach at first. It got super windy and stormy so we packed up our camp. It was pouring down rain...at the other beach!!! Haha, we had a quick stint of wind and rain for about one minute, then it was gone and sunny at our beach.

The show was delayed, because the other beach was where they were doing the stunts, wind was to much in the sky, and lots of clouds. So after a few hours of a "hit or miss" air show, we walked around downtown. Then we were almost back to the station when Chris goes, "I hear planes. I hear FAST PLANES!" So.. we rush back to the beach and get to see a few more stunt planes, then the Thunderbirds.

COLTS GAME

Woo! Kim Rocks! She totally scored us some majorly awesome seats to the Preseason game last week!

Our View with no zoom - It was AWESOME!

Talk about busy...

I've been busy! Update tonight with our picture from section 105 row 18 of the COLT'S GAME!! Haha, talk about exciting!

History Lesson

The Nina and the Pinta sailed on in to the marina here in town last week. They were made in Brazil and are owned by a historical foundation. You could only walk the decks and look at pictures and notes on the walls. Below decks was off limits because the fire department said we couldn't go down there since there was no other exit. Then the Coast Guard wouldn't allow people on the upper, upper (?) deck of the Nina because of something. But it was fun and educational at the same time....imagine that.

Washington Park Zoo

We also enjoyed visiting the Zoo.

At The Derby

Here are pictures from the G-town Derby!! Not too many drivers this year, but the boys had a great time all the same. Austin shot the cork gun, and hit a cup on the nearly empty wall his first try. He won a scrappy doo knock off doll. We went with Casi, Austin and Devon.... Kris and Dustin met us there a little later.
