Bike Ride!

Before Katelyn was born Bela and Emilia's friend Taylor gave us this bike trailer. It needed a part replaced, and last year we never even thought to take the bikes down. This year we have the bikes ready to go, and found the part for $20 bucks online, and we've been riding almost every day.

The other day I asked K if she wanted to go for a walk, and she said, "No, no, nnnooo." Then she ran to the garage and started patting the bike. So, we went for a bike ride...and let me tell you, that is much more of a workout than walking! My goodness- my legs were feeling the burn!

Indiana Beach

Last weekend we posed for our season pass pictures, and spent our first day of the summer at Indiana Beach. The season passes were on-sale, and each pass came with a "Bring-A-Friend" coupon...so they have already pretty much paid for themselves already. We thought this would be nice to try this year since K loves spinning around and hanging upside down. She had a great time! (And it's not too bad of a drive, so we never have to worry about doing everything in one day if it's too hot or busy!)

The family waiting in line to ride 'The Scooby-Doo' Ride..aka...the Pirate Ride.

K entertaining herself in line.

Grandma and Grandpa going into the darkness!

She loved, loved, loved all the car rides.

ha! This was her first time driving...maybe a little too fast?

Now she's got the hang of it!

Devon driving his parents around.

After a few times around, Katelyn drives around with ease and style.

Mother's Day Weekend with the Family!

Right after Victoria got out of school on Friday we headed to Danville for the legendary Mother/Daughter banquet at Grandma's church. The next day we played with the girls, and went to Grandma's (Great Grandma's) house to chat while dad (grandpa) watered the grass. Katelyn borrowed some of Blaike's toys to pass the time...and then Grandma found a bunny in the yard, and it let us get close enough for a cool picture. And then Grandpa took Victoria on a motorcycle ride, and we all met at Custard Cup for yummies! On Mother's Day we went to Aunt M's house for lunch before heading home....about 20 minutes from the house and we get rear-ended at a red light! A sophomore, just got her license, and bringing her car home after just picking it up. She said the brake pedal fell right to the floor. Her boyfriend just passed me before the light too, man, if only...he would have stayed behind me! =/ We're all ok, she was in tears, but ok. It looks like only a little damage to my bumper, and I'm hoping the shop will say the same thing when we take it in this weekend to be looked at.

Our Big Reader

Last week Katelyn was being super quiet...and we all know what that means! Well, what it usually means, anyway. This time Katelyn was caught laying in her room reading to herself. She has been on a reading kick lately. Every night she brings her potty book to me and has me read it, then she takes it to Chris, and then brings it back to me in a never ending in cycle until neither of us can read it again.

Wagon Ride

Yesterday was beautiful. Chris and I worked hard in the yard planting flowers and cutting wood. Katelyn played hard! At the end of the day, after Chris and Katelyn cleaned the tractor, we were so excited that Daddy offered to take us on a wagon ride around the block!

K really had fun with her pinwheel that she picked out at Menards in the morning. And yes, as you can see she played so much- and got so filthy that I had to strip her down outside half way through the day to toss her in the tub.
