Thanksgiving Trip Planned

We have solidified our plans for the Thanksgiving Trip to Thom and Heidi's.

Airfare to New Orleans is only $84 pp one-way. (That's booked)

We are staying at a Hotel, (Stay 2 nights, get 3rd free)

We'll spend Sunday and Monday checking out New Orleans,

Tuesday we're checking out, and Heidi and Matthew are coming to pick us up.

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday we'll be hanging out with them, and black Friday shopping!

Because Holiday airfare home was ridiculous, we are taking the Amtrak to Champaign for $96 pp.

Then we are hoping to make it to Danville in time for the girls' big event...??

Which means that we will have to drive a car to Illinois, then recruit someone to drive us to the airport in Chicago (or train it and huff it to the airport from there)

But we're paid for and ready and now just waiting for time to pass.

Catching up!

So... the Colts won Monday night football - next game is Sunday in AZ.

Tuesday we met dad at the Pilot for some -okayish- truck stop food.

Wednesday I was off and cleaned - grocery shopped - and did homework.

Thursday I am off - cleaning - and homework - already been to the post office and library. Looking forward to having all my homework done for the weekend. In a few, I am going to watch the One Tree Hill episode I missed this week thanks to the foot ball game. And tonight I want to watch The Mentalist and then jump on-line to catch up on Hell's Kitchen. Fun stuff - I know.

Tomorrow I work, I'm making the Sammie's for dinner - for which I made my own Creme Fraiche, and the bread is home made! Hope it is some kind of yum. I work Saturday, but other than that I don't believe we have any plans for the weekend.

Monday Night Football

We love Makenna!

So...I'm at work on Friday, and I'm thinking about what we are going to do this weekend...there was a demo derby in LaPorte, which looked like fun, but we hadn't made any official plans to do this yet. Then I get a call from Chris and he tells me that Brent and Amanda want to know if I want to babysit Makenna Saturday morning...Ofcourse, DUH! ... so Chris buys my Amtrak ticket and after dinner, he drives me to Homewood to jump on the New Orleans train. (Can I just say I LOVE the New Orleans train - so much leg room! Even in coach I was able to have my luggage bag and my backpack in the leg area, and still I was able to stretch my seat out and lay down.)

Anyway - so Brent picked me up at the station - train was only about 12 minutes late (great compared to the typical 40 minutes!)

On Saturday mom was going to drive to Champaign and take Makenna to her swim lesson. But...I called the girls to see if they wanted to ride with Grandma over here, and Kristina wanted to go GeoCaching in Champaign. So...she and the girls came, and mom got to stay home. We got to the Aquatic Center with 2 minutes to spare - couldn't ask for better timing. Boom-Boom. Makenna is so adorable - and the girls were just in love with her.

We went to get lunch at the mall - CHICKEN TERIYAKI - YUMM - Bought some candy from the candy store - YUM - then went geoing over at Parkland, no luck. Then we went to a park, with even worse luck on the geo, but had a good time playing on the equipment. Then Makenna and I got dropped off at the house and we colored the sidewalks, and played on the swing set. When we were finally tired of being outside, we went inside and not two minutes later ...THE PUPPY ARRIVES! Daisy is tooo adorable. Makenna loves her already.

After an initial blast with the puppy, we sat to watch Atonement. Chris arrived and watched a little of the movie, but was very hungry - and it reminded me that I was hungry - ha! So, we paused the movie, went to Dos, went home, hung out, sent the boys to get some Custard Cup, and chatted with Vicki.

Sunday we got up, got dressed, watched Austin Powers, then Chris and I went to the mall so I could use my VS coupons - Chris got his hair cut - and we headed to mom's for the meatballs we have been CRAVING for weeks now. YUMMY STUFF! After about an hour we headed home and just chilled for the night.

COLTS GAMES!!!!

Kim is W-O-N-D-E-R-F-U-L! As promised she was able to direct us to some TICKETS! We bought 4 tickets to 3 different games this season. This is the most games we have ever been to in one season! I think we went to a preseason, and one regular season one year.

So we are going to the opener Sept 13th with Mom and Grandma.
Then we have tickets for a game in OCT vs Texans, and Nov to the Broncos.

We are pretty excited, seats are right below the big window.

Labor Day

First of all, I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend. Chris and I drove to Murfreesboro to visit with mom and dad - during which we helped stage a SURPRISE visit from Thom and Heidi and Matthew! Here is how it all went down:

Chris and I arrived at 2am Friday night/Saturday Morning.
We all got up and got breakfast and laid around until 10:30ish.
Everyone went to the Kennedy's to chat and see their new kitchen.
Around 11:15ish we went to town so Cathy could mail a package.
Then we went to the mall :::This is when the panic sets in because Thom and Heidi have and ETA of 8 minutes to the house::::
Chris has already been setting up the plan, saying the the gravy from breakfast is upsetting his tummy a little.
Then he fakes a bigger stomach ache, which makes me have to question if he is being for real, because he even buys a Sprite to help settle his stomach.
So we decide to go home so he can lay down (and use the toilet)
As we are driving he plays it real good, and when i ask about diner, he says "Stop talking about food please," while he is holding his stomach.
Then we turn up the drive only 12 minutes late. Thom, Heidi and Matthew are standing at the end of the yard and SURPRISE!!!
It was great!

We celebrated Chris' birthday at Chuck E Cheese - Spent the evening at home - Heidi threw a mock SCENTSY party - I spent some money haha - the boys took the Kennedy's golf cart for a spin while we sniffed scents.

Sunday we woke, got dressed - Went to tour the Jack Daniels Distillery, shopped the small town square (bought some yummy fudge) - went home and threw a banging cook out with the Kennedy's!

....and I have no pictures because the camera was MIA, and after hours of looking before we left to come home, Chris remembers he put it back in the car for some reason that we're not sure of.....

First 2 weeks of class

So my first two weeks of school have come and gone. On my first quiz for EDUC, I missed one (I'm calling it a trick question,) and my first credit quiz for Chemistry was 20/20 Who-Rah! (okay I don't know how to spell it!) but it's a good noise, haha! My first math test is not till Sept. 30, so we'll see how that goes when the time comes.

GIJOE

Went to watch GI Joe last night...it's alright, I dunno I guess I like it. There were a few comical spots, and a few where they tried to be funny, but totally blew it ~ The "nice shoes," comment totally came out of nowhere people and bombed big-time.
