Internet! Rocks When It Works,

and stinks when it don't!

Friday night Chris and I decided to try our luck at the casino one more time. But first, we had dinner at Hacienda with Greg from Sullair. I've decided that the only thing I really like eating from there is the cheese soup. Nothing else has the flavors I like. El Bracero it is from here on out...unless I really want some Cheese Soup. Luck was not on our side this time at the casino, We went in with $15 and came out with only $.01. So good news is ... we only lost $14.99!

I had to work Saturday morning and Chris did a little work in the office until the security guard kept sitting down to talk to him, but hey now Chris knows that the guard was born on the SouthShore. That's pretty fun. We left for Kokomo after lunch on Saturday. We stopped at Menard's and then Lowe's for supplies. Next, we went to Olive Garden- YUMMY, YUMMY! OG is a treat for us now since there are none here.

Between Sat and Sunday Chris mowed the yard, I got all but the ceiling ready for painting in the small office and we made our way back to lowes on our way home to price cabinets. Now we have to decided if the investments are going to pay off, should we do them. We are also talking about having the walls in the small bedroom knocked out, expanding the bathroom and making a walkin closet for the master bedroom.

Today was about as Monday-E and Monday's get. The systems were down at the bank... internet banking and teller lines were (and still are tonight) down. It was chaos because we any one depositing cash we had to tell them that it won't be available right away today and if they are going to purchase things they should hold on to it. Most were okay with it, others threw a fit.... "I have a bill I have to pay over the phone... We couldn't sell purchase products and go figure- about 7 people wanted Money orders or Cashier checks and one person wanted traveler's checks. It was pure chaos. I heard a lot of, "maybe I need a new bank...." it got the point where I was just thinking, Yup, I'm all torn up, take your 5 bucks and go. And now, Chris is still at work at 7:15 tonight for some Ace meeting thing. He keeps calling to give me updates on when he thinks they will be done. Hopefully soon, I'm hungry!

Chuck E Photo's

Have you SCENE IT?....

Saturday we went to Kokomo to work on the house. I got all but one small section of the wallpaper removed that I wanted to get down. Chris started to glaze the windows. We decided to paint the windowsills white so no matter what the siding color is it will match and not need re-painted.

We also took a great break by stopping at Martha and EB's to see the boys. We met EB's mother while were there and Martha showed us her ultra-amazing doll collection she wants to put on eBay. Austin asked us many. many times about his tokens that we decided to take him to Chuck E Cheese and letting him go hog wild. :)
Chris was in charge of Austin and I was in Charge of Devon.... hence the many pictures of Devon. He was in such a great mood, I've never seen him so excited at Chuck E Cheese's before. He had a blast.
After Shane picked the boys up from Chuck E. We headed to the house to work some more and then we drove to Lafayette and went to TGIFriday's with Jamie and Mike. During dinner we found that Mike and Jamie have never had Cold stone before....so you know we had to run across the parking lot to get some. Mike said he couldn't believe that he just spent 5 bucks on an ice cream... but it was well worth it for us.
After Ice cream we went and played SCENE IT? Disney till the wee morning hours. I know, I know we are a wild a bunch, too much for some to handle... Mike made bacon and Jamie made pancakes for breakfast. Chris and I played Guitar Hero for a few. I guess we need to find ourselves one now. It's fun.

We didn't rob no Casino...

So we're not exactly depositing any thousand dollar checks, but a $40 profit ain't to shabby for luck-seeking, gambling freaks like ourselves...and Chris has a reason to be proud-- he only lost $7.00 instead of his whole $17.00 he started with. My first go round with my measly 250 points ($5.00 on the 2cent slots) started off looking bad, when suddenly the guy next to me started winning and winning. I jokingly asked him, "hey you wanna rub mine for a little of that luck?" So he gave my machine a little rub and boy oh boy, he must have rubbed it good because I started winning like you wouldn't believe. (of course again, we are talking the 2cent slots so it takes awhile to build up the little nest egg.) We were there for over 2 hours on just 27 bucks. I cashed out my big one when it started to get smaller and then just added 5 bucks to see if it was still lucky. I got to $10 bucks then lost my winnings and cashed out when I dropped back down to $5- actually I made 08 cents on that one. So after taking out our initial drop, we made $41.02. That paid Chris back for dinner tonight at Steak-N-Shake and still leaves us with $20 to go in the fun can.

As we were getting the car we heard sirens and I told Chris to hurry because they think we done ro-ro-robbed the casino we got such a big amount on us.

Moving Time Hass Passed

We have finally gotten all of our stuff moved to the 'new' apartment. See the pictures above for proof! Ha, we're really crammed in here now- we have a lot of work to do before July when the family comes to visit. We were thinking, perhaps they wouldn't mind tents on the beach... :) Alright I guess we'll just have to get it done.

I've discovered this nifty little Yahoo group called Freecycle::**County Name**:: Everything that gets posted is something some one is looking for or needing to get rid of for FREE! So, I put the moving boxes we already had empty on there to get them out of the way and like 4 people emailed me that night about them! The first to lady to respond came last night to pick them up. I also got my mom a brand new camper mattress for the Winnebago they are fixing up. (yeah, I look at Champaign's, Danville's, LaPorte and Michigan City's Freecycle sites) Sometimes there is pretty cool stuff and did I mention that it is free? I'll be posting more stuff for people to come get as we unload these boxes, for sure.

Not only did I get an A on my last portfolio (as I've proudly mentioned several times) I also got a note that says, "definitely the best cognitive portfolio I've ever read"! I had a test this evening for my education class... I think I did alright, but I hope I did great. I had a math test today that I'm confident I did well on and I have to pay for my summer class this coming Monday. I am taking a required 'college wide' course on personal finances. It will be online so all of our plans won't be disturbed by my class this summer.

This week I rented Robin Hood (the good one with Kevin Costner), Indiana Jones and Crocodile Dundee. I am still working on reading Austenland, but hopefully I will finish it soon, I'm really enjoying it- I just don't get much time to read it.

This weekend we think we are going to Kokomo to glaze the windows, paint the window trims and finish stripping the wall paper from the smaller upstairs bedroom...anyone with spare time that wants to come help is more than welcome. :)

Videos-

They are a little loud, so turn the volume down a notch...Sorry they are sideways... and on Rachel's I forgot to tell mom I was recording before I started recording, my bad.

Rachel's big performance

This past weekend was way cool. We went to IL for Rachel's Ice Skating Recital. We left Saturday morning and had lunch with mom, grandma and kristina at Monical's. Yummy, Yummy! After lunch Chris went to Grandma's and helped her work in the attic and did some handy-man jobs on the back porch with mom. Kristina and I went to the bank and then went to get her layers put in her hair at the mall. Later Chris and I went to the open skate and went around a few laps. I got my $3.00 skates from the Goodwill sharpened for $5.00. :) Check out the photos! I got some videos to post later. After skating we drove around the big D-ville to see how much it has changed. We drove by Chris' old hood and then we stopped by the Ames' house because they were outside working. and OMG I did not recognize Jennifer at all! We saw Bub at some point last year I think, but I have not seen Jennifer since she was like 6 or 7...now she's a sophomore! Michelle was at work but hear she is very, very tall. :) When we got back to Mom's it was time to go to the center and get Rachel's makeup put on her. Then is was show time. Aunt Marianne, Uncle and Andy and Grandma all joined us later for the show. Jason, Autumn and Donna were there also. Grandpa had to work but he got there in time for the second half of the show. We bought Rachel flowers for after her performance. Ashley got to give her yellow flowers because Rachel skated to Yellow Submarine. :) We went to dinner at Montanta Mike's with Mom, Kristina and Dustin.

Sunday morning Chris finished his work on the laptop. We headed to Champaign and had lunch with Brent, Amanda and Makenna at our favorite Chinese Buffett. After lunch we headed home and watched some tv, ate dinner and then retired the weekend. Another week is upon us all.

Chris had an early April Fools Joke Played on him...

Some people are easier to fool than others on April Fools Day. NC played a clever joke by sending out a mass email that we are no longer allowed to accept $2 bills for deposit. This would make the business people that receive them very upset and the people who come in to get them for their grand children's birthdays. Ha ha, funny.

But when someone strikes an April Fools day joke two days before April Fools Day- It can be pretty hard to imagine that it's a joke...

Chris got an email on Sunday from one of the employees saying his passport had been stolen and he was stuck at the US Embassy in Chile. He said that they cleared a couch off for him and hopefully it will be cleared up in a couple days. Chris follows all the channels, letting his supervisors know, sending an email to the president of the company...well he does it all except try to call the employee to just say, 'hey, got your email blah, blah, blah' Monday morning this guy is at work here in MC and Chris was upset, his bosses were upset because it was not a very funny joke to them. The employee apologized for the prank and did not think that it would go as far as it did.

All's good in the neighborhood.
