Not much really going on here. We decided not to go to kokomo last weekend because I worked, and decided to go this Saturday and try to get it all done in one swift visit so we don't have to spend the night. There are still 2 boxes left to get out before the family gets here.

Mitch has had the jet ski since before the weather got decent. He brought it by and dropped it off yesterday. Him and Chris went out to lunch yesterday also. I had to work, so I missed out on meeting Mitch again.

I woke up at three am this morning and still can not fall back to sleep. I feel kinda sick, but then I don't... I have to work till 6 so I hope I start to feel better, and if I don't get a nap in before, I may not make it till the end of my shift.

So I see..

Amanda has included their dinner list on their site, which has reminded me to put ours up again! Thanks Amanda! I like having it up there because I like when my sister ask me about a certain recipe... (so now I can get some yummy dinner ideas from the two of you!!) Chris and I love to cook- so we love to share recipes. :) I have a notebook full of them (because we always change several things when we cook, we like to keep note of what worked and what didn't)

I'll have more news and pictures tomorrow. I gotta clean the house right now, before we head off to meet with Papa West and Joey at the semi.

So I forgot to mention that we also went to the Goodwill on Saturday and furniture was 50% off, so we bought a cute little night stand for one of the extra bedrooms. Then we found an Ace Hardware store, (literally found it sitting back off the highway behind some other buildings), we went in and bought some spray paint for the stand. It is a sunshine yellow. Which actually is not all that bright, so it looks great.

I have also had some other great luck at the Goodwill these past few weekends. I found a brand new pair of diesel workout shoes in my size- I got 3 long skirts for work and a bunch of tops. I got me some "boots with the fur ". hahaha.

Yes, I also got my hair cut, yes it looks similar, I really need some new color, but one salon wanted $37 for a hair cut....shaw, riiiiiiight! So I went to Hair Cuttery and saved 20 smackers. But then highlights at Cuttery start at $80! The Salon that wanted $37 for a hair cut only charged $33 for highlights. So when I get my hair cut next time, I am going to go to the expensive salon and have highlights done with the cut and save myself some bucks.

She totally thinned my hair out way too much. I used the curling iron on this morning for work. I like it poofy.

Tonight should be fun. We are making our "special popcorn" and then going to the park for "Movie on the beach night" They are playing "Water Horse: Legend of the Deep" (that title is close enough, you can figure it out) It's totally free, just bring your blanket and set up shop. Though the start time is just whenever it is dark enough...

We are also going to Kokomo this weekend, so rain- STAY AWAY! I need to pick up pictures I ordered online from Wal-mart and forgot to change the delivery store for. And we are going to work on the yard. Hopefully the company comes to fix the house soon so we can sell it. I think we are going to meet up with Casi, Shane, and the boys there as well. Probably do dinner and call it a weekend. We may try to go to Heartland, it just depends on what we have to left to do on Sunday, because I don't want to be getting home at 9 o'clock on Sunday.

So there are our plans! Only one week and 6 days till the West Family starts arriving for the Holiday weekend! And only one month till Diamond Hunting.

Our Bee's Wax Bathroom...

So we have been working hard on the bathroom. With the exception of one minor touch up around the trim in the shower we finished on Saturday... Here was our work in progress...

The color ties in great with the beach themed bathroom. Though it is hard to tell how good it looks here. We replaced the straight curtain rod with a "hotel rod", which is rounded. Dudes- if you want your shower to feel bigger, buy one of these babies.... And yes, that is painter's tape still on the ceiling. Chris took it off just after I took these pictures... of course.

We even had a genius thought to put a curtain over the supplies closet. Poor tigger though, we moved her food dish and then she thought we moved her litter box. Crazy Kittie.

This Picture is of across the street. That is an old Library turned Art Center which is now being turned into a house.... can't imagine that electric bill!

Chris and I utilized the Sullair swimming pool on Saturday! Like our goggles? We actually bought those on Sunday, but the beautiful day quickly turned gray after we bought them. So we really haven't used them yet. We also bought some sea creature dive sticks and water bomb balls...The sun was pretty bright, Chris is prepared.

The pool at Sullair is really nice, it's plain but nice. There is a pool which goes from 3ft to 5 ft then back to 3ft. Then there is a separate diving pool with a board. The wading end is 5ft and the diving end is 12 ft.

We swam for about two hours on Saturday, man did I ever feel it on Sunday!

"I'm Gonna Be A Super Model...."

That's right, a SUPERMODEL....okay so Chris is the super model. He is all excited that he got to pose for a professional photographer with a Sullair Compressor. He said that the guy actually stood really far away, and with a telephoto lens made the pictures crystal clear you could read the tiny print on the sleeve of Chris' shirt. I'm not going to post too much right at this moment because Chris is getting cleaned up right now, and Tuesday of next week, he goes back to the studio for another photo shoot. I am off that day so he has invited me to come to watch. He is ordering a print for himself because it is "sharp" he says. He's gonna start thinking he's a celebrity with all this traveling and now photo shoots....bring on the Oscars.

***********

Tonight is the first night we got to rent Jumper! That's right, we have tried every night since Tuesday to get, twice is was available online and by the time we got he Red box, it was gone! So I finally broke down and reserved it online.... sorry suckers who make special trips to the red box because it says it's available online. Michigan City needs another Red box on this end of town.

So we did watch it already, very good. The hour and twenty some odd minutes flew by. Like it felt like the movie had only been playing for twenty minutes when I looked up and saw it was an hour and fifteen minutes into it. Little bit of a let down when it's over though. Sure the time flew by, but then I was like "that's it". Maybe it's because I'm a dork and I read the screenplay a few months back, so I kinda knew what I was expecting to happen...??

Anyway, when the movie was over we went outside and cleaned up the mess the handy man left in the front yard last OCTOBER! He never came to clean it up, he just left his wood, and leftover cement bags, some floor tiles and bricks just sitting there next the walkway. It looked nasty and Chris and I finally had enough. It filled up two trash cans of wood bits, bricks and other junk that he left there and stuff the people walking by tossed into the mess. We shoveled the massive pile of dirt under the stairs, so grass can start growing there again, while the rest of yard is in desperate need of trimming. We are going to put in a flower bed around the porch to make it a little more delightful for the eyes.

Tomorrow morning at 5:30 am we start painting the bathroom. Little by little the apartment is starting to look better and better. The roof and walls at the house in Kokomo is getting replaced due to water damage from wind damage to the roof. Once that is done, we have one room to paint, one hallway to paint, a small amount of wallpaper to remove in the bathroom because we already started it, and one spot of plaster on the ceiling to patch up. But as soon as the damage is correct by the insurance that baby is going on the market.... sad to see it go, but love to see the payment go! ... I can go to school full-time once that is out of our hands.

Well, I guess I'll post later this weekend. Hopefully with new pictures of Bee's Waxy colored bathroom.

Work to do...

Today I have to go to the library and drop off he movie rentals, and get a new book. I also have to go grocery shopping, and the post office. Chris is excited that JUMPER comes out on DVD today...I'll be stopping by the Redbox to pick that up today also. We are going to be painting the bathroom this weekend. It is going to be yellowish color, it's called "bee's wax".

We will also be deciding if we want an exchange student this year or not, and if we decide to we will be picking one out this week. The guy came by yesterday to do the home inspection. We must have passed because he gave me the login in information to see if there is a student that we want.

Tomorrow Chris and I may go down to Soldier field and apply for jobs working the concession for the bears games... we thought it sounded like fun, but we may not depending on if we do the exchange student program or not. Well see...

Fixin' The Apartment

Got one room painted! I had to work on Saturday, but after that we went to Sherwin-Williams and bought paint for the bathroom and the smallest bedroom. We woke up at the break of dawn and started working our behinds off. We were done with all but a few touch ups by 9:30am. The color is a lighter blue called, "Icelandic Blue".

Afterwards we sat outside and played chess on our little table that my mom bought for us a couple years ago. Not as nice as sitting outside at the house in Kokomo, but it works.

Here's another picture of the new room.

Okay so Chris is just way excited about the new Disney film Wall.E. And the preview shows Wall.E. putting a dirty old bra from the junk yard over his eyes... so Chris started walking around the house with mine over his eyes saying, "WallE, WallE, WallE- Lara, Lara, Lara" in his best ET voice.

Fun, Fun, Fun

Watch the Ostrich very closley... It has a hold of Casi's Jeans! We were showing the kids what not to do...
