Chris is Registered!

Just to let everyone know- Chris is officially registered for class starting February through Wesleyan University. All of his transcripts and transfer papers are received. There needs to be about 5 more people to join the class for the actual class to be "carved in stone". He is pretty excited to be going back to school.

Phone Update:

Chris called the phone company about insurance and replacing my phone. At first it sounded like I'd have to get the old model I had that echoed really bad (I had two of them, they both echoed). But after talking to the ins. rep. They show I have a Blackberry Curve, so all is well. I have to pay $125.00 for the replacement, but my number will be the same. Now, I just need anyone who's number I may have had, that Chris may not have to email me lara.west@gmail.com their phone number.

Thank you Much!

Just an FYI:

My Cell-Phone got Jacked while I was shopping at the Good-Will!! My number has been suspended while we work out getting another phone. That's right, I was all messed up and I set my cellphone down to put clothes in the bag for the bag sale and I walked away about three rows, remembered I set it down, went back to get it and it was G-O-N-E. Chris started calling it right away and I had it on LOUD ringer, and nothing... Someone done snatched it in less then two minutes. Of all the places we went today I had to set it down at the place people go for cheap junk... and michigan city ain't exactly overflowing with honesty. Some people... grrr... I'm mad, but mostly mad at myself... poor Chris he'll be taking the brunt of my frustration, as I said very clearly, "Don't let me forget my phone" when i set it down. But he knows I don't really blame him and I love him.

After great debate I have decided to drop my trig class. I took this class because I was having so much fun with the one before it...however after only two sessions I discovered that I am not well prepared because the instructor from last semester simply had us practice the first steps of the whole problem then went on to the next first steps of the another type of problem. So I thought hmm... I have one day to drop the class the class and get my money back.... or I stress out and try to do the course and hurt my 4.0 GPA for a class that I do not need for my degree. I decided to drop it. I took my book back this morning during the break for my first class, then after class I went to student affairs to officially drop for my refund. Tony, one of the guys in the office, was like "whoa, whoa, whoa -I'm going to make you talk to Doc Downs about this first." So I go to Dr Downs office and he's like "I think you should give it a few more weeks, it's hard but it's easy stuff at the same time....why don't you talk to Mrs. Ficken about it first." I call Mrs. Ficken and she tells me to come see her after work, before my other class tonight. I stop by and she gives me an A for effort on expanding my horizons and stepping out of my comfort zone , but she thinks I should drop it. So She signed off on me dropping the course, but encourages me to find another class to pick up.

Kids Say Bye-Bye

Friday night Isabela had a slumber party at a friends house, then on Saturday around 12:30 Chris and I picked her up and we went to Danville. First we played wii at Kristina's house with her and the girls. Then there was the three of us, Mom, Grandma, Kristina, Dustin, the two girls, Devon, Casi and Shane all eating at Monical's Pizza. After that we hung out at the house for the evening playing wii and laughing at each other. Then on Sunday we played wii fit again (have to get one), and then Chris, Kristina and I took Rachel, Ashley and Isabela sledding. It was her first time, and she liked it a lot better then skiing. She started off slow, but eventually the girls got her on the fast trail. Ashley went right under the chain fence! Mom made a big lunch with Ham and Mac & Cheese. Kristina and I skipped away to decorated Bela's cake for her party. Then we headed home.

Last Full Day- Party

Monday Isabela and I hung out the entire day. We went shopping to finish up her gift shopping. Then we went to the bowling alley where 28 of her friends from school, soccer and Chorale showed up to bowl with her and my sister Kristina decorated the cake and I bought Isabela's favorite ice cream- Breyers- Chocolate and Mint Chocolate Chip. Then we went shopping at walmart, and on our way home we decided to watch "Hotel For Dogs".

:::Sniff, Sniff:::

So Yesterday was pretty emotional. First, I took Isabela to the high school because school was cancelled on her last two days, and she still had finals to take. So we went to see if she had to take them that morning. Thankfully the counselor said she will tell the teachers to just average her grade out. Then I took her home, and went to class. Then I came home, we watched Gossip Girl online, and then we loaded her bags into the car. Chris came home, we got our last sweet tea's together and ate at Chili's in Mishawaka. Then we headed to the airport and away she flew. I could not concentrate during my math class last night it was terrible. We are really going to miss having her with us... but she has to come back because she had too much stuff to pack it all up this time. hehe...

It happened again. Woke up every 20 minutes with throbbing ears that feel like they are going to explode, a deep headache that ran from the back of my neck to my eye balls. I got class this morning, and I don't want to go. Normally I am always very excited for class, but not so much when I feel like this. I took 2 rapid release this morning, it seems to be helping for the moment. Isabela's school got cancelled last night for today. I'm not sure how much snow we have, but it is way more than our fair share. Maybe we can try to go snowboarding later... I know I am going to get called into work today though, I can feel it. Carrie had to call off once this week for not being able to get out of her drive because of drifts. That is one thing I do not miss about living in the country.

Savin' Money: Thanks Ebay Peeps

I think I may have mentioned that my school books cost $327 for three books this semester, and I'm not having a whole lot of luck on beating people to the buy-back days...so I turned to good old EBay. I got my science book for $60 equaling a savings of $64 when I take my book back on Tuesday. And I got my Communication book for $40, saving me $55. I feel so rich now.

Holy Crap...That was Fun!!!

Sunday Chris and I took Isabela and her friend Rachel Skiing in Michigan. There are 7 trails for all levels. Rachel is a skier and Chris has skied multiple times, but it was Isabela and mine first time....man was it fun! I almost got so nervous that I wanted to find excuses not to go... but as soon as I went down the bunny hill I was so excited. Such a rush. I went down the next level hill, rolled a little on my first try, but nailed it clean the second time. There was a bit of an emergency on the hill as a young boy had fallen and was hurt. I managed to stop and holler at Chris and Rachel to get help... His parents were just kneeling next to him, when I walked up at first he was unconscious, but he soon woke up. Chris cleared the area for the emergency personnel. We can only assume that he is alright. Above is a picture when we first arrived, Chris and I on our ski's, Chris in the Cafeteria enjoying a short break, Chris, Rachel and me getting off the ski lift, and then us when we were leaving. We are definitely going to return there.

Our First Post of 2009!

We have had a busy New Year to start with. Isabela flew to Nashville to spend time with her American Grandma West. Apparently they had a lot of fun because Isabela said she wasn't coming home. You'll have to check her blog to find out all that they did....something about ice and volcanoes. Chris and I drove down on Monday night, stopped in Bowling brook, KY for Chris to work on a "10 minute" job in the morning which turned into a four hour job. We finally arrived at about 5:30 that evening. Chris and I had one gift left to purchase so we went to Wal-Mart and left Isabela at Grandma's to be entertained by her new Brazilian friend living down the street. We opened gifts that night after a wonderful dinner... Everyone played LOTS of Guitar Hero during the week. Chris got a new workout pants and sweatshirt set, and a Colts wall clock. I got mineral makeup, a colts purse, Chocolates (not for us, but for me), and the both of us got a Wii!!!! Enjoy the x-mas pictures::::

Isabela discovers the jumbo remote... I think she can get used to that. Chris and I took Isabela her new friend shopping at the Avenues in Murfreesboro on New Years Eve. I bought a pretty dress and dress jacket for 10 bucks each from Ann Taylor Loft. Then we brought in the new year with some drinking champagne and others having sparkling apple cider. Isabela, Chris, Grandma and me ran around the house at midnight. On New Years Day Dad stayed home and cooked lunch, while everyone else went to Chuck E Cheese's. We had at least 300 tokens and got 1070 tickets! Bela and Makenna both got a stuffed animal. Then we went home and hung out.

(Never mind the fact that the camera is a day behind)
